You get to build the thing from scratch, not just maintain what someone else left behind.

You are joining an asset manager that takes technology seriously. They use it as a genuine competitive advantage, not as a support function. The engineering here is central to how the business wins, and that shapes everything about how the team operates.

Right now they rely on third party vendors for a lot of their core tooling. That is changing. There is a long term plan to bring everything in house, and you are one of the people who will make that happen. You are not coming in to keep the lights on. You are coming in to build.

The role itself is very hands on. You are writing code, making architectural decisions, and getting into the detail every day. There is also real room to stretch into new technologies as the stack evolves, so if you have been itching to learn something new while doing serious, meaningful work, this gives you that.

On the technical side, you are working with Python, fastAPI and Angular (or alternative frontend framework). If those are your tools, you will feel at home quickly. Ideally, you'll also be working in the investment/FS space, however your technical proficiency will carry more weight here.

The salary goes up to £120k and there is a performance bonus on top of that. This is also a hybrid role, two to three days a week in the office, with the rest of your time wherever you do your best work.
