Job summary

Akkodis in London is seeking a Senior Python Developer to join a fast-paced backend team. The role focuses on robust Python engineering with exposure to AI-enabled applications in regulated environments.

You will design, develop and maintain back-end services, integrate AI models and APIs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a London-based role requiring three days on-site per week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' commercial Python development experience.
• Strong core Python programming and software engineering skills.
• Experience designing and developing back-end applications, services and APIs.
• Exposure to AI development, AI-enabled applications or AI-related PoCs.
• Understanding of how AI/ML capabilities can be integrated into software applications.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong SQL skills with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, testing and maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain robust back-end applications and services using Python.
• Contribute to AI-enabled PoCs within a regulated environment.
• Integrate AI capabilities, models and APIs into applications.
• Collaborate with technical, business and AI teams to identify practical AI use cases.
• Prototype and evaluate new AI-enabled functionality for production.
• Design and develop APIs, microservices and data integrations.
• Ensure applications are performant, scalable and secure.
