Senior Python Engineer - London (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £90,000 + bonus

The Data Gals is partnering with an innovative, technology driven business in London to find a Senior Python Engineer to join its engineering team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineer who wants to combine strong technical delivery with the autonomy to influence engineering standards, architecture and the future direction of a technology platform.

You’ll play a key role in shaping how the team builds, deploys and maintains software, helping establish best practices while contributing directly to the development of scalable platforms and web applications.

The role

As a Senior Python Engineer, you’ll take ownership of key engineering initiatives, working across software development, infrastructure, tooling and platform evolution.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Hands-on engineering: Designing, developing and maintaining high quality Python applications and services.
• Architecture and technical design: Contributing to architectural decisions and helping build scalable, maintainable and reliable systems.
• Engineering standards: Establishing and promoting best practices across the team, including coding standards, testing and code quality.
• Code reviews: Reviewing code, sharing knowledge and supporting continuous improvement across the engineering function.
• CI/CD and DevOps: Improving deployment pipelines, development workflows and automation to enable reliable, efficient software delivery.
• Platform roadmap: Helping shape and deliver the technical roadmap, identifying opportunities to improve platform capabilities, performance and scalability.
• Tooling and AI: Exploring and implementing new tools, automation and AI enabled solutions to improve developer productivity and engineering processes.
• Web applications: Contributing to the development and evolution of web based applications and platform functionality.
• Technical ownership: Working autonomously, taking initiative and driving projects forward from technical design through to implementation.

About you

You’re an experienced Python engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and taking ownership of the systems you build. You’re comfortable working independently, making informed technical decisions and helping raise the engineering standards of the wider team.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Strong commercial experience developing applications and services with Python.
• Experience building and maintaining web applications or backend platforms.
• A solid understanding of software architecture, system design and engineering best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps principles and automated deployment processes.
• Confidence conducting code reviews and promoting high standards of code quality.
• An interest in developer tooling, automation and the practical application of AI in software engineering.
• The ability to work autonomously, balance hands-on development with broader technical responsibilities, and influence engineering direction.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Experience within MarTech (Marketing Technology) or a similar technology driven environment would be particularly beneficial, but candidates from other relevant sectors are encouraged to apply.
