Job Description:

My client, a leading global private credit hedge fund, is seeking a talented Senior Python Developer to join their London office on a contract basis, supporting the firm’s continued innovation in data-driven investment technology.

You’ll be embedded in a lean, highly skilled technology team, working directly with the CTO and collaborating closely with stakeholders across front office, risk, and operations. This is a hands-on role with real impact—you’ll be translating complex business needs into elegant, scalable Python solutions that directly power investment decision-making.

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a high-performance environment at the forefront of alternative credit, building robust, production-grade applications that shape the next generation of analytical tools used across the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing Python-based solutions across the investment and risk platform - You’ll be building robust back-end systems and services that interface with core investment data, ensuring scalability, performance, and clarity of design in a growing data and analytics environment.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across technology, investment, operations, and risk - You’ll work closely with a variety of business users to understand complex investment workflows and translate them into well-architected, well-documented Python code that delivers tangible business value.
  • Driving quality through clean code, automation, and best practices - The role requires attention to detail, with a focus on delivering well-tested, high-performance Python applications that integrate into the wider ecosystem and can be easily maintained by both technical and non-technical users.
  • Championing best practices in data governance, engineering and Agile development - You’ll play an important role in ensuring high standards of data quality, and supporting a collaborative team culture in line with Pemberton’s values of innovation, responsibility, and excellence.

They are seeking candidates with:

  • Strong Python development experience in financial services or a comparable data-rich environment
  • Proven experience building scalable applications and frameworks used by multiple stakeholders
  • Exposure to financial datasets and/or fixed income, credit or private markets is highly desirable
  • SQL skills and an understanding of data pipelines or reporting frameworks is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with both technical and business teams
