Job description

We are looking for a Senior Python Developer to join our client on an initial 6-month contract.

They have recently developed a new platform for their industry that has gained interest and investment. The successful candidate will work alongside the Head of Engineering to help build the new system.

The Senior Developer will need to have significant Python experience, specifically API-first development using FastAPI, and experience in refactoring and building complex systems.

Their product makes considerable use of LLMs, so experience in this area is required.

You will work within a small team and ideally be able to take ownership of parts of the system, while maintaining a can-do attitude to picking up whatever is required.

They are working with Knowledge Graphs, so experience with this would be highly desirable but not essential.

Skills & experience needed:

1. Extensive Python experience, specifically API-first development using FastAPI
2. Experience with LLMs
3. Knowledge Graphs / RDF / OWL (highly desirable but not required)
4. Ability to refactor existing applications to improve scalability and features
5. Experience with NextJS, MongoDB, Redis (desirable)
6. Experience hosting applications on Azure (in Container Apps) (desirable)
7. Financial Services experience (highly desirable)

The role is outside of IR35 and can be fully remote but UK-based. An office in London is available if the candidate wishes to work onsite.
