Job summary

Enfint, a hedge fund building a modern medallion architecture data platform, seeks a senior backend engineer to design and develop data platform components with Python in our London office. You will own ETL pipelines, data lakes/lakehouses, and distributed systems while improving CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure.

Experience with financial/market data is essential, as is a strong background in databases and data-intensive systems.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience with Python.
• Experience working with financial or market data.
• Experience designing and operating data-intensive and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of relational, NoSQL and columnar databases.
• Willingness to take ownership and work across the full development lifecycle.
• Collaborative and pragmatic approach with strong stakeholder management skills.
• A 2.1 or above in a STEM discipline, likely with MSc-level study.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data platform components using Python.
• Develop and optimise ETL pipelines, Data Lakes / Lakehouses and distributed systems.
• Improve infrastructure, observability and CI/CD practices.
• Maintain and evolve existing systems, including microservices, ETL and Excel add-ins.
• Support platform operations to ensure reliability and performance.
