Client Server in Cirencester is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (Python) to design and build greenfield data-centric services that monitor Arctic ice flows and related data for clients in government, defence and energy.

You will own backend features end-to-end, work with geospatial processing, and apply AI tools like Claude in daily workflows within a fast-growing startup environment offering equity.

Qualifications

• Strong Python backend development experience for data-centric applications.
• Knowledge of geospatial or image processing technologies is required.
• Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude) in daily workflows is a plus.
• Prior exposure to startups or small teams and ownership mindset is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Greenfield, data-centric backend services.
• Monitor Arctic ice flows and related data points for government/defence/energy clients.
• Own features end-to-end from ideation through production deployment.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to technical decisions.
