Job summary

ALTEN in Guildford seeks an experienced Python Software Architect to lead the design and development of a scalable, modular software platform for testing and validation of consumer products. You will own software architecture decisions, set development standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive Python development experience in commercial or research settings.
• Proven ability to design scalable, modular architectures for data-driven platforms.
• Strong grasp of software engineering principles: maintainability, extensibility, testability, code quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design of a modular, scalable Python base.
• Define development standards, coding guidelines, and architectural frameworks.
• Collaborate with Software Lead, developers, and engineers to translate requirements into robust architectures.
• Provide technical leadership and promote best practices across teams.
• Oversee integration of software drivers for testing equipment and lab instrumentation.
• Design data capture, processing, analysis and reporting solutions.
• Ensure architecture supports future enhancements and handovers.
