SENIOR PURCHASE LEDGER CLERK / MANCHESTER / HYBRID / 12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT / £27,000 - £32,000 (DEPENDANT ON EXPERIENCE) PLUS BENEFITS

Due to maternity leave, we are now looking for a fixed term Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our highly experienced team based in Manchester. The successful candidate will work with a large finance team but will be working in a smaller sub team.

This role is looking for a Monday 5th January 2026 start for 12 months.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Invoice processing; Assist with accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices through our Procure-to-pay (P2P) system COUPA, ensuring they match purchase orders
  • Trade invoices Processing; Assisting in the efficient and timely processing of daily trade invoices, ensuring the accuracy of data entry into PeopleSoft
  • Payment Runs; Help prepare and execute payment runs to suppliers, ensuring all payments are processed within agreed terms
  • Training & AMP; Development, Participate in training sessions to enhance your understanding of accounts payable functions, financial systems, and general accounting principles
  • Compliance; Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant legislation in relation to accounts payable processes
  • Supplier Queries; Assist in responding to supplier queries, addressing any invoice or payment -related issues
Experience you’ll bring
  • Previous experience in Purchase Ledger
  • Interest in Finance; A strong interest in accounting or finance, with a desire to develop a career in the field
  • Attention to Detail; Ability to work accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all financial data is correct and well organized
  • Communication Skills; Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal team members
  • IT Skills; Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel,Word) and interest in learning new financial software
  • Time Management; Ability to prioritize tasks and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • TeamPlayer; Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and learn from the team.
  • Professionalism; A professional attitude and approach to work, with a focus on confidentiality and integrity
