Job summary

Visum Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Service Engineer with a strong mechanical and electrical background and proven pump experience. The role combines pump repair, on-site engineering and workshop coordination, with potential junior leadership responsibilities.

The position involves stripping, inspecting, repairing and testing pumps, assembling pump sets, site surveys and providing technical reports to support quotations and repair decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
• Essential experience in pump repair, service or maintenance.
• Practical fault-finding, fitting and repair skills.
• Good organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Strip, inspect, repair, rebuild and test pumps, both in-house and on-site.
• Assemble pump sets and carry out installations, fault-finding and site surveys.
• Prepare technical reports and assist with quotations, costing and repair-versus-replacement decisions.
• Help coordinate workshop workloads, job scheduling and daily operations.
• Liaise with Sales, Works and Stores to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and on time.
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, housekeeping and workshop organisation.
• Support the maintenance of workshop machinery, building facilities and calibrated equipment.
