About the Role

As (Senior) Publishing Performance Strategy Manager you will collaborate with colleagues in Research Publishing and stakeholders across Springer Nature to enable the shared objective of publishing more good quality articles, especially focused on the Open Access market. You will be comfortable working across multiple teams and will support the creation and delivery of high-level strategy across key themes including Content Retention, Content Attraction, Researcher Engagement and Research Integrity.

This role can be located in our Berlin or London offices on a hybrid working model. The position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis.

Role responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain publishing performance strategy with a focus on journals, providing bespoke analysis and recommendations

  • Create strategy for how Springer Nature can utilise editorial models and relationships with research communities to drive growth, working with the Editorial Engagement Team

  • Contribute to deeper understanding of how we can attract content more effectively whilst maintaining our strict quality requirements

  • Help Springer Nature become a home for all research by supporting the development of a strategy, corresponding roadmap and monitoring for content retention

  • Help align teams within Research Publishing and beyond (including Marketing, Digital and Operations).

  • Work with the Research Integrity team and related teams to help ensure alignment and effective execution

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Solid experience in either strategy consultancy or in-house strategy implementation planning and execution

  • Excellent project management and communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to formulate and deliver data-driven strategies

  • Good stakeholder management and ability to work within a matrix environment

  • Problem solving and ability to manage complexity

  • Collaborative mindset and approach

Desirable:

  • Experience within STM publishing or science communication is preferred

  • Thorough understanding of the research community and the scientific process as it pertains to STM publishing and relevant technology landscape
