Job summary

Public Health Wales is seeking a Senior Public Health Practitioner to join the Primary Care Division. You will provide specialist public health expertise to the Divisional work plan and contribute to programmes, including Community by Design, Population Health Management, Equity and Inclusion health, and Environmentally Sustainable Health.

The role involves working with NHS and external partners, co‑production, and embedding preventative approaches across primary and community care settings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Public Health or related field (e.g., Health Promotion) or evidence of equivalent learning/experience.
• Proven continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• This Senior Public Health Practitioner role provides specialist public health expertise according to the Divisional work plan and contributes to national programmes and projects.
• Work with primary care clusters, local health boards and partners to embed preventative approaches and improve health outcomes.
• Apply data and evidence to present usable formats for stakeholders and support cross‑team collaboration.
