Hampshire County Council is seeking a Senior Public Health Practitioner to join the Healthy Places, Nutrition and Physical Activity Team. You will lead programmes addressing the wider determinants of health, with a focus on place-making, housing, food insecurity and community connectedness to improve outcomes for Hampshire residents.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Public Health, or equivalent.
• Significant experience in public health or roles with substantial public health responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of health inequalities and wider determinants of health.
• Experience developing, implementing and evaluating public health programmes, strategies or policies.
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret evidence and data for diverse audiences.
• Understanding of evidence-based policy, epidemiology and research methods in public health.
• Outstanding communication and partnership-working skills across organisations.

Responsabilités

• Lead and support development and delivery of programmes addressing wider determinants of health (healthy places, housing, food insecurity, community connectedness).
• Embed health in all policies across council services and influence policy and decision-making.
• Collaborate with district/borough councils, NHS partners and communities to implement place-based health improvements.
• Use evidence, research and insights to identify priorities, understand local needs and reduce inequalities.
• Shape public health responses to spatial planning and place-making to create healthier environments.
• Develop outcome measures and evaluate programmes to demonstrate impact and drive improvement.
• Provide specialist public health advice, prepare reports and represent Public Health in partnerships and forums.
