Job overview

We are seeking a Band 8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our busy outpatient EWMHS team in Redbridge on a permanent contract. The role involves working with local Special Schools and as part of the core EWMHS team. We have a growing, supportive therapy team and seek a psychologist passionate about young people's mental health and wellbeing to deliver high-quality interventions.

Minimum requirements

  • Post-graduate qualification in clinical/counselling psychology, registered with HCPC, AFT, or UKCP.
  • At least 2 years of experience in delivering psychological therapies in a CAMHS setting, including working with CYP with learning disabilities and co-morbid MH presentations or behaviors of concern.

Main duties

  • Be an effective team member, supporting peers and team lead.
  • Support and liaise with other professionals and agencies, embedding trauma and culturally informed practices.
  • Provide clinical supervision and consultation to junior colleagues, assistant psychologists, and trainees.
  • Assess and treat children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
  • Offer consultation and psychological assessments for children in Special Schools in Redbridge.
  • Deliver evidence-based, tailored psychological interventions based on clear formulations.
  • Provide consultation sessions to partners in Special School settings to support emotional wellbeing.
  • Advise on management of behaviors of concern impacting safety and engagement.
