Job description
Overview

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Senior Psychologist to join the team at St Mary’s Hospital in Warrington, Cheshire. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, providing psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions for individuals with complex needs, including acquired brain injury and forensic risk. With support from a regional network of Psychologists, you will contribute to service developments and enhance treatment pathways for service users.

Main duties

37.5 hours per week. Under the direction of the Joint Heads of Psychology, you will support the delivery of psychology services across St Mary’s Hospital and act as the primary point of contact between the psychology department and senior management in the absence of the Joint Heads. Your responsibilities include providing psychological assessments, formulating treatment plans, implementing a range of interventions, and developing and managing group work programmes. You will contribute to psychology service developments with an evidence-based approach to new clinical initiatives.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Doctorate level qualification in applied psychology (clinical, forensic, or counselling) and registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist. Experience with clients with complex needs (e.g., forensic, neuropsychological rehabilitation, learning difficulties, neurodiversity, and complex trauma) is required. Competency in psychological assessment and formulation, risk assessment and management, and therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, CAT, CFT, EMDR).
