Job description

Job title: Senior Psychologist

Location: HMP Gartree, Leicestershire

Overview: We have an exciting opportunity to join our integrated Mental Healthcare team at HMP Gartree, a Category B prison, to develop the Psychology services on site working with an experienced integrated mental health team. The role suits an experienced Psychologist familiar with adult mental health presentations, neurodiversity and historic trauma, with trauma-informed approaches and strong team orientation.

Hours

To be worked between Monday and Friday, 3 days per week at HMP Gartree.

Salary

This is a part-time role, 22.5 hours per week, offering a salary up to £65,000 per annum FTE depending on experience.

Requirements

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK. Additional vetting and security checks apply due to the nature of the role.

Main duties of the job
  • Offer clinical support and oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) in the form of training, supervision and reflective practice
  • Undertake psychological assessments and support complex multidisciplinary formulations
  • Deliver and oversee 1:1 psychological interventions and group interventions as part of the Trauma Informed "Making Sense" Programme
  • Deliver teaching and training to healthcare and prison staff where required
  • Contribute to audit, service evaluation and research activities as appropriate
