Job summary

Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust in Kent is recruiting a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Hospital Liaison Psychiatry team, providing expert psychological input in a busy general hospital setting. You will work with adults, deliver mental health assessments, support acute distress referrals, and contribute to CORE24 development.

HCPC registered clinicians with a doctoral qualification are sought; Band 7/8A progression is possible.

Qualifications

• Doctorate-level or equivalent BPS approved qualification in Clinical/Counselling psychology.
• HCPC registration.
• Experience in a range of clinical settings and ability to support people in acute distress.

Responsibilities

Are you a registered Clinical Psychologist with a passion for providing exceptional care?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Senior Psychologist to join our well-established and dynamic Hospital Liaison Psychiatry service. This is a key role within the senior clinical team within the Liaison service.

It is a fantastic time to join the Liaison Psychiatry service as we continue to develop our services to CORE24!

The Service – Liaison Psychiatr

The Liaison psychiatry service aims to provide mental health advice and support to individuals receiving care and treatment at general hospitals in Kent and Medway. The general hospital staff can refer anyone over the age of 18 who attends A&E or is an inpatient on a medical or surgical ward.

The liaison team can then offer advice, support, or a full mental and psychological health assessment as appropriate. By ensuring that an individual’s physical and mental health are considered holistically, it is possible for the whole healthcare team to ensure the most effective care is delivered in a collaborative way.

A Band 7/8A development role will be considered for candidates with the required clinical psychology qualifications, HCPC registration and competencies for this post.

Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist - Essential Qualifications and Experience

You will have a doctorate-level or equivalent BPS approved qualification in Clinical/Counselling psychology, with experience in a range of clinical settings, be able to support people in acute distress and hold HCPC registration.
