Job summary

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in the UK is seeking a Protective Security Engineer to join the Secure Infrastructure Team in Coventry. You will design security systems for a diverse portfolio of projects, liaising with clients, design teams and accreditation authorities to ensure security requirements are integrated from concept to delivery.

Ideal candidates will have a defence/security background, DV vetting readiness, and strong CAD skills (Revit/AutoCAD).

Qualifications

Degree-qualified or equivalent, ideally from a relevant professional body.
Experience of working within secure environments.
Ability to carry out site inspections on the quality of installation works.
Organised and have excellent attention to detail.
Experience of developing CAD drawings (Revit & AutoCAD) or willingness to learn.
Effective communication skills to engage stakeholders, including negotiation and conflict‑management.
Proven team player with ability to motivate others.

Responsibilities

Managing secure infrastructure development schemes for internal and external clients.
Being the protective security engineering design lead, advising professional design teams on security standards and specifications.
Building strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and internal teams.
Coordinating and monitoring the appointment of professional services teams in line with MTC policy.
Ensuring compliance with statutory, defence, and security standards throughout project delivery.
Managing contractors and consultants, including specialist subcontractors, ensuring projects are delivered on time.
Driving continuous improvement within the Secure Infrastructure Team.
