Job summary

Egis is seeking a Principal Engineer (P&C) based in the UK to lead, review, and approve Protection and Control design submissions. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with National Grid/DNO standards for HV infrastructure like substations and switchgear.

The role involves coordinating among stakeholders and managing risks in engineering designs. Essential qualifications include a degree in Electrical Engineering and proven experience in P&C design.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in P&C design, design assurance, or technical approval within the Electricity Transmission and/or DNO sector.
• Strong knowledge of HV infrastructure, including substations, transformers, switchgear, and HV cable.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards CEng accreditation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess P&C design submissions for compliance with National Grid/DNO policies.
• Act as the primary contact between National Grid/DNO and contractors regarding P&C design matters.
• Identify potential risks relating to safety, reliability, and performance in contractor designs.
