gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Senior Proposal Engineer to work at their facility based near Welwyn Garden City
Performance Objectives

• Preparing and delivering proposals to support sales efforts and drive through to completion
• To ensure that proposals are in line with corporate branding and agreed styles
• Interacting with customers and suppliers to understand requirements and specifications
• Collaborating with Commercial, Tooling, Engineering and quality to formulate bid processes for customer requests
• Ensure timescales are achieved at each step of the bid process, including all internal governance, while taking the initiative in setting realistic deadlines
• Gathering and analysing technical and financial data for future bids and develop, review and improve processes, on an ongoing basis, to create quality proposal documents
• Provide and meet departmental KPI's

Person Specification

• A-C GCSE Level or equivalent in English, Maths & Physics;
• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering - Equivalent or above
• Advanced level CAM
• Experience of tool design and manufacture in various materials.
• CAD 2D/3D software for drafting & modelling.
• Experience with proposal development and sales support.
• Good understanding of the Design for Manufacture philosophy to enable right first-time customer bids.
• Ability/experience of using online customer portals to manage tenders
• Understanding of Hard Metal forming techniques.
• Report writing & presentation skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• PC literate with intermediate skills in Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience Aircraft Industry
• Experience of Hot forming, SPF, Presswork
• MS Project & Visio & project management
