Job summary

South Holland District Council is seeking a Senior Property Surveyor to join our Housing Landlord Services team. You will lead surveyors and technical staff, delivering ambitious investment programmes, major improvements, adaptations and maintenance across our housing stock.

We require a strong construction background, extensive knowledge of building defects, planned maintenance and contract management, with the ability to provide technical leadership and drive continuous improvement for

Qualifications

• Significant experience in construction, property maintenance or social housing.
• Strong technical knowledge of residential construction methods and defects.
• Experience delivering planned maintenance, capital works and improvements.
• Understanding of procurement, contract administration and legislation.
• Experience managing contractors and construction projects end-to-end.
• Ability to diagnose defects and propose practical solutions.
• Knowledge of stock condition surveying and asset management.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of planned, cyclical and responsive maintenance programmes.
• Manage capital investment projects and housing improvement works.
• Oversee property adaptations from minor to complex projects.
• Develop and lead a team of surveyors and technical staff.
• Procure and manage contracts in line with council procedures.
• Monitor contractor performance, budgets and quality standards.
• Provide technical advice to senior managers and stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement and a customer-focused service.
