South Holland District Council invites applications for a Senior Property Surveyor to join our Housing Landlord Services team in Spalding. The role leads surveyors and drives the delivery of planned, cyclical and responsive maintenance across our housing stock, while managing capital investment projects and complex adaptations.

You will provide technical leadership across construction methods, building safety and contract management, ensuring value for money and positive resident outcomes.

Help Shape the Future of Our Housing Stock

South Holland District Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Property Surveyor to join our Housing Landlord Services team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled construction and property professional to play a leading role in managing and improving our housing stock. Reporting to the Property Services Manager, you will lead a team of surveyors and technical staff while delivering ambitious investment programmes, major improvement works, adaptations and maintenance projects across our housing portfolio.

We are looking for someone with a strong construction background who can provide technical leadership across a wide range of housing assets. The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of construction methods, building defects, planned maintenance, project delivery and contract management, enabling them to oversee complex programmes of work while ensuring excellent value for money and positive outcomes for residents.

As Senior Property Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

Leading the delivery of planned, cyclical and responsive maintenance programmes.

Managing capital investment projects and housing improvement works.

Overseeing programmes of property adaptations, from minor aids through to complex extension projects.

Managing and developing a team of Property Surveyors, Assistant Surveyors and technical staff.

Procuring and managing contracts in accordance with Council procedures and legislation.

Monitoring contractor performance, budgets, quality standards and service delivery.

Supporting compliance with key legislation including CDM Regulations, Building Safety requirements and health and safety standards.

Providing technical advice to senior managers, elected members and stakeholders.

Driving continuous improvement and delivering a customer-focused service for residents.
