Job summary

Wiltshire Council is seeking a Senior Solicitor to join the Legal Property and Planning team, providing expert advice across a broad portfolio of property matters. You will manage your own caseload, lead on complex property matters and work with colleagues and external counsel to deliver successful outcomes.

You will advise on mortgages, trusts, ACVs and governance issues, with a view to shaping major developments and supporting Council priorities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience advising on local authority property matters within a public sector setting.
• Experience with complex conveyancing, land held on trust and governance issues.
• ACVs and related legislation knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage own caseload and lead on complex property matters.
• Provide clear, practical legal advice to the Council and stakeholders.
• Represent the Council where appropriate and collaborate with external counsel.
• Drive service improvement and maintain high professional standards.
