Senior Property Risk Engineer

Location: London - Hybrid working and travel to sites in the UK & Ireland (with occasional international travel)

Our client, a leading global insurer, is seeking a Senior Property Risk Engineer to join their dynamic and growing Risk Engineering team.

The Role

You will play a key part in delivering property risk engineering services to underwriting teams and clients—supporting risk selection, client retention, and the development of risk improvement strategies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting on-site risk assessments and property surveys for complex, multi-site businesses
  • Acting as the technical Account Engineer for key clients
  • Supporting underwriters with risk evaluation and decision-making
  • Preparing high-quality reports and tailored risk improvement recommendations
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, brokers, and clients to develop pragmatic, cost-effective risk solutions
  • Monitoring service plan budgets and providing stewardship reporting
  • Representing the company at client meetings, broker forums, and industry events

Experience

  • Strong background in property risk engineering or loss prevention
  • Experience in field surveys and working with corporate clients or multinational accounts
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to balance technical analysis with commercial insight
  • Capable of producing clear, actionable reports and presentations
  • Knowledge of sprinkler controls to NFPA, LPC/BSEN standards
  • Engineering qualifications or relevant technical background is
