Senior Property Litigator

At DLG Legal Services , our mission is to make law easy and accessible to everyone. As part of the Direct Line Group, we provide legal services to over 50,000 DLG customers each year. Customers can access our legal Advice-line team and our growing list of services includes personal injury, employment, property, inheritance, and contract litigation. We also support our parent group, litigating on their behalf.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Solicitor/Chartered Legal Executive/experienced Paralegal to join us based from our Bristol office to deal with our more complex and high value property disputes .

The Role:

As an experienced Litigator, you will also be responsible for supporting supervision of other members of the team and developing their knowledge and skills.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be responsible for your own case load where you will be providing accurate and clear legal advice on prospects of success, managing clients’ expectations, explaining decisions and the steps in the claims process clearly and succinctly; always ensuring the fair treatment of clients and acting in a proactive manner.

Take all reasonable steps to settle claims and recover costs.

Record time spent accurately and maintain accurate system records.

Identify learning & development needs and opportunities for self and wider team progression.

Support the strategic development of department best practice, product performance, and the customer experience through continuous improvement initiatives, you will be supported in generating new ideas with all ideas welcomed and encouraged.

What we are looking for:

A Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or an experienced Paralegal with a minimum of 4 years experience dealing with property claims from inception and throughout litigation of Fast and Multi-track claims

Experience in dealing with high value and complex property claims including litigation claims such as; boundary disputes, nuisance claims, First Tier Lands Tribunal claims to name but a few

Ability to work with the wider team and help upskill individuals in technical/complex matters together with supporting supervision of cases

Ability to work well under pressure with high attention to detail

Ability to communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders and peers.

Experience of using a Case Management System

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Mon-Fri 9-5

Remote Working: Hybrid model
