Job summary

A local authority in North London is seeking a Senior Property Lawyer to provide high-quality legal advice on commercial property transactions and regeneration projects. Candidates must be qualified with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience, strong drafting and communication skills, and the ability to manage a caseload independently. Office attendance is required two days a week. This contract is for 3 months with the possibility of extension.

Overview

A North London local authority is seeking a Senior Property Lawyer to join its in-house legal team and support an increase in high-level work. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious legal professional to play a key role in shaping the borough's future through regeneration and development projects.

Role

ROLE: Senior Property Lawyer

Location

Location: North London

Rate

Rate: £50-55ph umbrella / £48.46ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £43.24ph exc. holiday pay

Contract

Contract: 3 months with possibility of extension, 36 hours per week

Please note that this role would require office attendance 2 days per week.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal advice across a range of matters, with a particular focus on:

  • Commercial property transactions
  • Regeneration projects
  • Development work

You will be expected to manage a substantial caseload with minimal supervision, contributing to the authority's strategic priorities while maintaining the highest professional standards.

Key Requirements
  • A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with a current practising certificate
  • Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial property, regeneration, or development law
  • Strong drafting, negotiating, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently while being a strong team player
  • Experience of working in or with local authorities is desirable
