As a result of this proposition we're seeking an experienced Property and/or Casualty Senior Underwriter to join us at one of our East Anglian offices in Ipswich or Norwich. (Hybrid working, 1 day a week in office).

You'll participate in the Global P&C Academy accreditation, enhancing your skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management while exchanging best practices across the Allianz Group. Furthermore, for pricing-based roles, Allianz Insurance offers a generous study package to enable the actuarial qualification to be obtained through the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £55,000 per year.

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

As the Senior P&C Underwriter, your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a Senior Authority holder focussed on winning and retaining business of a large and complex nature
  • To build and develop successful Broker relationships
  • To be visible in the local market, you will thrive on face to face contact with brokers and end customers
  • Provide excellent service and develop business relationships with key clients
  • To achieve agreed financial and operational performance targets
  • Provide support and guidance to colleagues on lower license levels, signing off referrals and working on quality assurance
  • To collaborate strongly with other departments to achieve the Company's goals in respect of service delivery

Essential Skills

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Outstanding technical underwriting skills in commercial property and/or casualty (ideally already at a senior level)
  • Proven track record of dealing with large and/or complex risks
  • Capable of leveraging data and analytics
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Excellent trading skills and a confident negotiator. Proven experience in handling large cases.
  • Strong ability to build, develop and maintain broker relationships.
  • Achievement orientated, able to organise own workload to meet tight deadlines and with a positive attitude.
  • ACII qualified or progression towards
  • Full working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
