Job description

Senior Project Worker who has an understanding of housing-related support and experience of working with vulnerable groups, including child/adult safeguarding procedures, is required for a charity that supports women, children, and families through a range of accommodation, support, empowerment, and advocacy services.

SALARY: £31,095 - £32,009 pro rata + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid / some home working available. Must live within a commutable distance to Mexborough, Doncaster, South Yorkshire

JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 18.5 Hours per Week, including Friday

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Senior Project Worker with an understanding of housing-related support and experience working with vulnerable groups, including child/adult safeguarding procedures.

The charity provides high-quality Housing Related Support that makes a real difference to women, children, and families in Doncaster.

As the Senior Project Worker, you will have the empathy, compassion, and professionalism to support families, along with a “can do” attitude and the ability to thrive in a challenging environment.

You will work with voluntary and statutory sector partners and other stakeholders to deliver outstanding services and maintain the charity's reputation and standards.

DUTIES

Your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting service management, ensuring practices, policies, and procedures comply with legislation, regulations, quality standards, health and safety, and safeguarding policies.
  • Line management and support of staff, including supervision, wellbeing support, training, performance reviews.
  • Supporting recruitment and induction for staff, bank workers, students, and volunteers.
  • Overseeing quality and progress of assessments, risk assessments, and case management.
  • Monitoring housing benefits and other payments.
  • Tracking service targets and outcomes.
  • Conducting audits, including training, file audits, and data logging.
  • Promoting the charity through media and publicity campaigns.
  • Managing the housing element of the service, ensuring compliance with statutory standards.
  • Overseeing referrals to ensure efficiency.
  • Contributing to fundraising strategies and supporting fundraising efforts as directed by the CEO.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential experience/education:

  • Educated to Level 5 or equivalent (or willing to work towards), such as DipSW, CSS, CQSW, or similar.
  • Experience working with vulnerable groups and familiarity with child/adult safeguarding procedures.
