Job Description:

Senior Project Quantity Surveyor – Clean Energy Generation

Senior Project Quantity Surveyor sought by leading project developer pioneering the delivery of Renewable Energy assets throughout the UK. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will support project delivery, taking responsibility from the project development team, supporting the closure of contracts and managing them through construction and handover to operations.

Projects include the UK’s largest Energy Storage Assets (+100MW), H2 Ready Thermal Power Plants, and Green Hydrogen Electrolysis Assets. These projects involve high-value equipment installation, M&E, and civils activity.

The ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee risk and value management, drive subcontractor performance, and manage quality. A background in M&E, Renewables, O&G, Thermal power, or large-scale Infrastructure (Data Centres, Civil Infra) is suitable.

Key requirements
  • Experience with various contract forms, especially NEC suite (ECC Accredited Project Manager qualification preferred but not essential)
  • Experience in heavy Civils/M&E/Energy works in main/principal contractor setting (not essential)
  • Experience on contracts over £10m for principal contractor (desirable)
Key responsibilities
  • Manage change processes, maintain effective change control, manage risk/early warning registers, react proactively to variations, and work with contractors to reduce project risk and costs
  • Procurement: prepare enquiry documents, review work scopes, focus on design and time-critical T&C’s, negotiate contracts, select contractors, and draft final order documentation
  • Manage contractor accounts, assess and process payments, and issue payment notices
  • Challenge disallowed costs and optimize project expenditure
  • Maintain cost plans, report to directors, and track earned value
  • Provide commercial support and advice to site management
  • Foster professional working relationships

Location: Projects across England, with company offices in London.
