The Senior Programme and Project Manager is responsible for planning and delivering complex projects & programmes, contributing to the New Business Net Zero business unit strategic goals.
We work in a hybrid, Flexible First way—typically spending 1–2 days a week in the office. However, this role will require someone who’s comfortable flexing their schedule as needed to meet the demands of the job. The successful candidate will lead project teams and project managers to co-ordinate efforts across different activities within the programme scope to ensure delivery is within budget (up to £10m), while managing complex interdependencies and mitigating risks in adherence with the Change Governance Framework.
This role is essential for maintaining a high-level view of the overall programme, ensuring that all projects are progressing as planned and delivering the expected benefits.
Key accountabilities:
Lead multiple, complex programmes and related projects to deliver core business KPIs aligned to the New Business Net Zero (NBNZ) strategy. Develop and execute comprehensive plans, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, timelines and go to market strategies to ensure timely delivery of solutions
Identify and mitigate risks and issues, proactively addressing potential roadblocks and implementing contingency plans to maintain project and programme momentum
Facilitate monthly programme boards with the leadership team to effectively communicate updates and aid decision making and alignment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tech, product, and business stakeholders, to define programme scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall business goals
Utilise advanced analytical reasoning to assess programme performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven optimisations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Champion the adoption of agile methodologies and technical solutions, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team
Coaching stakeholders and developing within the team
