Job summary

DCS Recruitment seeks an experienced Project Planner for a major demolition and deconstruction project based in Birmingham. You will develop, maintain and monitor the programme, providing accurate planning information to the project team and client.

The role requires strong NEC4 programme knowledge, experience with complex construction projects, and ability to work in a focused, site-facing environment. Office-based with weekly site visits. UK driving licence preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in construction, civil engineering, project management or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Project Planner/Senior Planner on complex construction, demolition or deconstruction projects.
• Demonstrable ability to develop programmes from first principles and manage NEC4-compliant programmes.
• Strong knowledge of risk, time allowances and risk-adjusted programming.
• Proficiency with planning software: Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6 and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the project programme from first principles.
• Produce and update NEC4-compliant programmes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop detailed project schedules covering demolition and deconstruction activities.
• Monitor progress against the programme and identify delays, risks or recovery actions.
• Collect and validate progress information from project team and site personnel.
• Produce regular progress reports and planning information for the team and client.
• Apply time risk allowances and develop risk-adjusted programmes as needed.
• Provide planning support to Project Manager, Contracts Director and wider team.
• Attend project meetings with client and stakeholders.
• Identify programme risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities.
