Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Senior Project Planner for the Stansted Airport Transformation Project, based at Stansted Airport, Essex. The role spans pre-construction and delivery, embedding within the project team from early stages to construction to influence strategy, sequencing, and delivery outcomes.

You will develop and maintain complex programmes, lead cross-disciplinary planning activities, and provide clear reporting and strategic guidance to stakeholders, including mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior planning role on infrastructure or construction projects.
• Ability to develop and maintain complex project programmes.
• Strong understanding of project controls, reporting, and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• As a Senior Project Planner, develop, maintain and manage the Contract Programme and Programme to Build.
• Lead planning and coordination across enabling and advanced works packages.
• Establish efficient construction sequences to optimise time, cost, and risk.
• Monitor progress, analyze performance and provide reporting with mitigation strategies.
• Produce weekly and monthly programme reports for internal and client stakeholders.
• Collaborate with design, commercial, construction, and supply chain teams to align delivery.
• Provide strategic and commercial advice on programme impacts and risks.
• Contribute to procurement and construction strategies through programme development.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders, presenting information clearly.
• Mentor junior planners and drive team capability.
