Job description

At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Senior Project Planner at our Rosyth site.

The role
As a Senior Project Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a new team working on a complex and challenging engineering project in the nuclear sector, within a nuclear related infrastructure development project.

Day-to-day, you’ll undertake complex and non-routine Planning professional assignments (in Primavera P6) within the programme, with minimal supervision and may also provide leadership to more junior roles and other project controls peers. You will also:

  • Regular status update of the integrated schedule and the provision of metrics (e.g. critical path/total float) and schedule analysis of the impact to the project.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project structures.
  • Develop, baseline, and maintain the Project integrated schedule, including leading all status updates with key stakeholders on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Ensure alignment between the integrated scheduling and the companies financial and material demand (P6 – ERP/IFS).

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Senior Project Planner

  • Extensive, relevant experience in a similar environment / business sector
  • Experienced in various contracting methodologies (e.g. FIDIC/NEC/JCT)
  • Advanced knowledge of scheduling toolsets e.g. Primavera/MSP etc…
  • Quantitative risk analysis experience
  • Full project lifecycle experience

  • Project Planning and Controls – Practitioner
  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
