Salary:Grade 9
Contract Type:Fixed Term – 2 Years
Hours:36 per week
Location:Croydon Council / South London Partnership (with travel across SLP boroughs)

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experiencedSenior Project Officerto support the delivery of theConnect to Work Programme—a voluntary, locally-ledSupported Employment initiativelaunched under the UK Government’sGet Britain Workingstrategy. The programme is designed to help people with disabilities, long-term health conditions, or complex barriers to employment toenter and sustain meaningful work.

Croydon Council is theAccountable Body, managing the delivery across the five boroughs within theSouth London Partnership.

As a key member of the team, you will work closely with the Programme Manager, external contractors, and borough partners to ensure the programme meets its objectives and delivers high-quality services. You will also play a vital role inperformance monitoring,stakeholder engagement, andservice integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Programme Manager in coordinating and delivering the Connect to Work Programme.
  • Manage discrete projects and provide project support across the SLP boroughs.
  • Monitor project progress, analyse performance data, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and service integration to improve referral pathways.
  • Represent the programme at strategic meetings and external events.
  • Support contract management and assurance visits with delivery partners.
  • Develop and present performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience in project and programme delivery within a local authority or public sector setting.
  • Strong understanding of employability programmes and externally funded interventions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
