Job summary

Southern Water is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead major water and wastewater capital projects within the Major Projects Capital Deliver Team. You will manage multidisciplinary teams and complex programmes up to £100 million, in a flexible hybrid setup at Falmer/Durrington.

This role requires strong leadership, risk management, and stakeholder engagement to deliver on time, cost and quality across the AMP cycle, with site travel two days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects in utilities, water, or construction.
• Strategic thinker who can unite multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Able to manage risk, forecasting, and balance commercial priorities while delivering time, cost and quality.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end project leadership—meeting schedule, quality, and budget objectives.
• Creating and managing project schedules including key milestones (design, procurement, stakeholder sign-off, construction).
• Driving efficiency, facilitating collaboration, and resolving challenges quickly to keep the programme on track.
• Coordinating internal teams and external partners, ensuring clear communication and shared goals.
• Reporting on progress, forecasting, and risk to inform business decisions and reduce exposure.
• Supporting strategic programme clarity alongside the Senior Project Manager.
