Contract: Long term - Outside IR35

Our client is an energy technology company with a 150-year legacy of innovation. They are seeking a Senior Project Manager for Business Improvements for a 6-month contract outside IR35. The role focuses on energy transformation, new technologies, decarbonization, and innovative, leading-edge technology.

Role:

As a Senior Project Manager (Improvement projects), your role is to successfully implement improvements, involving initiatives vital for business efficiency and competitiveness.

Responsibilities:

Manage improvement initiatives within the Engineering and Product Development branch of the Compression Business. This includes scope, budget, and schedule management to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, maintaining the client’s competitive position. Collaboration with global teams—technical, supply chain, manufacturing, sales and marketing, engineering, senior management, and stakeholders—is essential.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Work with the Compression leadership team to establish, launch, and deliver improvement projects.
• Engage stakeholders to define project scope and requirements, ensuring documentation and buy-in, and set clear project targets.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and Resource Owners to create project plans, secure resources, and manage projects per processes.
• Execute projects within approved boundaries (requirements, functionality, costs, time, quality, customer satisfaction) and lead cross-functional teams toward goals.
• Manage scope through Change Management and mitigate risks with appropriate strategies.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Strong leadership skills, motivation, and passion for continuous improvement.
• Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project & Jira).
• Knowledge of Lean and Agile methodologies.
• Experience leading large cross-functional project teams.
• Ability to develop, monitor, and control project plans in R&D or engineering environments.
• Knowledge of turbomachinery products and technology (advantageous).
