Job Description

Senior Project Manager - Turbine - Bridgwater, UK

About the Role

Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater.

Are you a strong, passionate Project Manager ready to embark on the next stage of your career? Are you experienced in contract management with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day presents new challenges and opportunities to excel?

The Opportunity

At Hinkley Point C (HPC), we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

As the first of the UK's new nuclear power stations, HPC is both high profile and complex. Its delivery relies on innovative engineering, construction, and strong leadership qualities among its Senior Project Managers. You will ensure the delivery of mechanical installation activities for both Turbine and Conventional Islands, adhering to safety, quality, time, and cost parameters to meet project needs.

Reporting directly to the Delivery Manager, you will lead all activities related to a major HPC contract, responsible for installing the world’s largest Steam Turbines and supporting electro-mechanical infrastructure.

Pay, Benefits, and Culture

Starting salary from £90,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a market-leading pension scheme. Benefits include enhanced parental leave, electric vehicle leasing, health insurance, product discounts, critical illness insurance, technology vouchers, gym membership, and season ticket loans.

EDF UK promotes flexibility, supporting remote, on-site, or hybrid working to ensure a safe, valued, and inclusive environment. We champion equity, diversity, and social mobility, fostering a dynamic workplace where diverse backgrounds drive innovation.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Senior Project Manager, you will drive the delivery of activities within set time, cost, safety, and quality parameters. Your responsibilities include managing contracts, detailed control schedules, establishing and leading project teams, defining roles, managing budgets, developing risk logs, and coordinating interfaces between work scopes.

Who You Are

You have a strong background in delivering projects within complex, regulated environments, preferably within Nuclear Energy or similar sectors. A degree in engineering, construction, or equivalent, along with professional project management qualifications such as APM PPQ or similar, is required.

You demonstrate expertise in engineering design, contract and field execution strategies, EPCM project management, and control of costs, risks, schedules, and changes. Experience with NEC and FIDIC contracts, CDM Regulations, and full project lifecycle management is essential. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are key to building effective relationships and ensuring project success while maintaining safety and environmental standards.
