Senior Project Manager - Transmission & Distribution

Join us at Mace as a Senior Project Manager - Transmission & Distribution, supporting major electricity transmission projects in the UK. Based in Leeds, with travel across the UK, you will manage and deliver key projects, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage project programmes, budgets, risks, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
2. Provide regular updates on project performance, risks, opportunities, and financial status.
3. Develop projects through early phases, including optioneering and consenting, ensuring innovative and robust designs.
4. Oversee design reviews, safety management, and project risks.
5. Support tendering, procurement, and contract strategies.
6. Manage project delivery, including safety by design, commissioning, and post-completion.
7. Act as the main interface with stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships.
8. Coordinate contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
9. Handle complex third-party issues, land, consents, and community relations.
10. Lead monthly progress and cost meetings, and attend weekly site meetings.

Minimum Requirements

1. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to coach and support teams.
2. Excellent persuasion and communication skills.
3. Experience in electrical infrastructure projects.
4. Knowledge of relevant legislation, HS&E management, and environmental controls.
5. Experience with NEC contracts, risk management, and project handover processes.
6. Understanding of procurement for complex projects.
7. Degree or equivalent qualification, with relevant industry experience.
8. Membership of a professional institute and safety qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
