Senior Projects Manager - Stonework Contractor
Location - Office (Henley-on-Thames), Projects in the South East of the UK, and working from home.

The Role:
A key part of the Senior Projects Manager position is to pull together the whole set of projects and processes, ensuring carefully combined planning, resourcing, and balancing/prioritisation of activity across the whole Projects portfolio in the business.

In addition, the role will be directly responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of projects (up to approx. 10 projects at any one time, depending upon size & complexity). A typical project is anywhere between £50k to £2.5M+. You will be directly in control of the delivery of between £2M - £5M annual turnover, and indirectly coordinating across the full Group.

You will need to build trusting relationships, both internally and externally, with strong and careful communications, using long-term risk management & programme planning, resulting in excellence in delivery across multiple & diverse projects.

The work associated with each project will naturally include:

  1. Programme planning (short, medium and long term)
  2. Commercial understanding and control.
  3. Change Control (working with our QS / commercial department).
  4. Communications & relationship management.
  5. Project Risk Management.
  6. Resource management, both in-house and external.
  7. Procurement
  8. Ensuring delivery activities (e.g. working with Design Lead, QS, Production Manager, Site Project Managers, Other Project Managers, Logistics & H&S, Procurement & Finance & HR etc).

Person Profile / Skills:
This role will benefit from (but support and training will be provided where not in place):

  1. Knowledge or experience of Stonemasonry projects & processes would be favourable (and/or Stone Heritage and/or Interior Stone).
  2. Experience of Construction Sites & Logistics processes.
  3. Excellent track record / evidence of Project Management delivery work for large and complex builds (and ideally Project management qualifications e.g. NVQs or CIOB etc).
  4. Knowledge or experience of H&S generally.
  5. The ability to work to long-term risk & planning time perspectives.
  6. Software skills including Spreadsheets / Planning software / Sketching tools etc.
  7. Project Management qualifications.
  8. Proactive approach to planning and looking ahead for potential risks and opportunities.
  9. Experience in managing a team of 5-10+ people.

Other Details / Benefits:

  • Salary in the range of £55k - £80k (according to experience)
  • Annual Bonus based upon company and personal performance
  • Success in role over 2 years would progress to Share Options / A Shares/ room to grow into Project Director Role).
  • Company Car Allowance (in consideration with overall Salary).
