Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides comprehensive hospital and community services for East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester (population 357K). The post holder will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Smart Buildings target digital outcome and delivering on the five desired outcomes of Clinical Safety, Operational Efficiency, Enhanced Security, Improved Experience and Service Productivity.

This role will be responsible for delivering the Smart Buildings GAP analysis and the creation, delivery and continuous improvement of the Smart Building Strategy.

The roles key focus will be in developing and delivering the Smart Buildings digital capabilities, including Operational Control Centre, Artificial Intelligence, Analytic Systems, IoTs, Security, Asset Tracking, Integration Gateways, BIM, Intelligent BMS and Intelligent Energy in line with the New Hospital Programme required deliveries.

The role will also lead on data standards for Smart Buildings and work closely across the Healthier Futures Technical and Digital Workstreams to ensure back-to-back compatibility of data, digital and infrastructure standards across the workstream deliverables.

They will work collaboratively with both the estates and facilities management and digital teams, both within the Healthier Futures team, wider Trust departments, Technical Partners and Healthier Future Design and Construction teams.

They will also be responsible for the creation of a training and development programme to ensure the wider digital and EFM teams have the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver the Smart Building solutions in the operational hospital. This will extend through the future business as usual operational delivery of the new intelligent hospital.

This role will lead on the development of wider technical digital elements of the Smart Buildings and Intelligent Hospital Capabilities in support of the Technical Workstream MEP Lead and Digital Workstream Lead. This will include the production of technical and delivery strategies in support of the smart building delivery. This will include specifically data standards, control and ownership to support the interoperability and cyber security of systems across functions and platforms.

A key aspect of this role is also to ensure that the data produced and used across the smart buildings systems and platforms is fully owned by MCHT and interchangeable with external market products.

This role will also lead on the development of technical and equipping strategies and lead on procurement and commercial input with regards to Smart Building technologies.

Many of these pieces of work are key to delivery of the outline business case (OBC) and full business case (FBC).

The post holder will be the subject matter expert in Smart Buildings and have strong technical experience within the digital services and Operational Estates and / or Capital Estate functions, to be able to engage with key pieces of work for delivery within NHP deadlines.

The post holder will also have a strong understanding of clinical systems and a good understanding of clinical operational delivery.

The post holder will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, excellent experience in integrating multi technology platforms, strong knowledge of data standards and brands of product across estates and digital functions.

The post holder will have solid communication skills and a strong desire to tackle the complex problems of scale and the ability to take responsibility and be accountable for the Smart Buildings deliverables.

The post-holder will lead relevant projects that impact on the organisation including the architecture of implementing new technology onto the Trust network as a proof of concept in support of the main Healthier Futures Programme and Smart Building delivery.
