Job summary

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Real Estate Project Management Team in Cambridge. You will lead complex real estate projects, act as the main client contact, and shape strategies to deliver on time and within budget.

You will guide governance, develop plans, monitor KPIs, and support business development through cross-selling opportunities and client pitches. This role requires travel within the UK and beyond.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction, real estate or project management.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional membership desirable (RICS, PMI, CIOB).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage delivery of complex real estate projects to meet time, cost and quality targets.
• Act as day-to-day client interface to align objectives and ensure value.
• Provide strategic advice at project conception on preferred approaches.
• Set and monitor project success criteria (time, cost, technical, performance).
• Plan for and manage quality, safety, health and environment issues.
• Establish project governance, processes and systems for the duration of the project.
• Produce and maintain the detailed project plan and progress reports.
• Oversee change control and monitor project finances and KPIs.
• Lead marketing and business development activities, including cross-selling and bids.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Real Estate Project Management Team in Cambridge. You will be part of a dynamic and diverse team, working across sectors on a wide variety of projects on a rotational basis. Senior Project Managers handle commissions of varying scale, value and complexity; from local community led initiatives to transnational projects with global resonance.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Manager, you will:

• Lead and manage the delivery of complex real estate projects, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time, cost and quality standards
• Act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards
• Advise at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client’s overall objectives
• Establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters
• Plan for and manage the ongoing quality, safety, health and environment issues
• Establish effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project
• Project plan, including ensuring the production of the detailed project plan
• Monitor and apply performance management techniques, including the use of KPI’s to improve project performance
• Manage the change control process
• Monitor and advise upon project finances
• Ensure the production of formal project progress and other reports
• Lead the marketing and business development activities, such as:
  • Developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients
  • Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities
  • Working with Associate Directors and Directors to construct bids for new work
  • Attending formal client pitches with Assistant Directors and Directors
  • Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve project management products and services

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Degree qualified in relevant construction, real estate or project management discipline
• Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required
• Excellent communication skills, in person and written
• Professional membership desirable, such as RICS, PMI, or CIOB
