The project:
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a team delivering a multi-billion long-term programme of works to increase national prison capacity for the Ministry of Justice (MoJ).
You’ll work on a national programme focusing on delivering projects using best practices and experience. The role may involve leadership of a project or a leadership position within a sub-programme, depending on programme requirements and your development plan. You will coordinate with various disciplines across delivery partner services provided by Mace to the MoJ. Project stages will range from inception to post-completion.
This role is open to London, Birmingham, Manchester & Bristol.

- Create and manage project programmes, integrating design, procurement, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure delivery of project objectives in line with the project execution plan, leading teams to meet KPIs.
- Maintain and update project plans, monitor timeframes and budgets, and manage risks.
- Implement quality management and monitor standards in line with service excellence.
- Lead meetings, document proceedings, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Manage project changes, ensuring formal documentation and tracking.
- Coordinate handover documentation before project completion.
- Promote business priorities through construction, digital, and responsible business practices.
- Network and seek best practices within Mace’s knowledge resources.

You’ll need to have:
- MAPM/MCIOB/MRICS/MICE or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant tertiary education or equivalent experience in project management/construction.
- Proven experience managing projects of various sizes.
- Understanding of project management methodologies and construction practices, including DfMA and MMC.
- Strong communication, presentation, and planning skills.
- Experience managing budgets and delivering projects under NEC contracts.
- Leadership experience managing diverse teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
