Job description

Were looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of some of our most complex and strategically important change initiatives. This high-impact, delivery-focused role will be instrumental in turning strategic priorities into successful outcomes, bringing together people, plans, budgets and dependencies to keep major projects and programmes moving forward.

What youll be doing:

Lead the end-to-end delivery of large, complex projects and programmes, selecting the right Agile, Waterfall or iterative approach to achieve successful outcomes. Own delivery against scope, budget, quality and timescales, managing multi-million-pound budgets, resources, dependencies, risks and change. Lead and develop high-performing project teams, providing clear direction, coaching and support to Project Managers working across a matrix environment. Build robust business cases that clearly define costs, benefits, return on investment and the improvements projects will deliver. Influence senior stakeholders, building strong relationships across business and IT and providing clear, confident updates at Steering Committee and Board level. Anticipate and manage risks, issues and dependencies, challenging where necessary and ensuring effective mitigations and controls are in place. Manage third-party suppliers, ensuring performance, accountability and seamless integration into the wider delivery plan. Ensure projects transition successfully into the business, with appropriate operating models and acceptance criteria while meeting relevant regulatory, compliance and governance requirements.

What youll bring:

Youll be an experienced and influential project/programme leader who thrives on delivering complex strategic change. Youll combine strong delivery and commercial judgement with an agile mindset, bringing clarity to complexity and inspiring teams to perform at their best. Youll be comfortable operating with senior stakeholders, challenging constructively and making things happen in a complex, regulated environment.

Essential experience & skills:

You’ll have proven delivery of large, complex, multi-project programmes within a lean-agile environment. Strong experience across Agile, Waterfall and iterative methodologies, supported by a relevant lean-agile qualification. Significant experience managing multi-million-pound budgets, business cases and financial outcomes in a regulated environment. Own a strong track record of leading and developing matrix teams, including coaching, mentoring and driving performance. Experience managing third-party suppliers throughout the project lifecycle. Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills, with confidence operating at Director and Board level. Excellent understanding of risk, governance and regulatory requirements, ideally within financial services. An integrity-led, customer-focused and growth mindset, with the drive, curiosity and resilience to continuously improve. MSP Practitioner or equivalent programme management qualification. Experience within Financial Services, Automotive Finance or B2C consumer finance.
