Job Description:

The M25 is one of our Flagship projects in the UK! It is the most used part of the UK Strategic Road Network, with over 200,000 vehicles per day. It includes around 800 structures and 5 tunnels, requiring high performance, constant improvements, and repairs.

We’ve formed a Joint Venture called Connect Plus Services (CPS) to work on widening, operating, and maintaining the M25 under a 30-year contract. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to oversee project objectives across key areas such as Health & Safety, Quantity, Cost, Environment, Delivery & People.

This role involves managing complex highways schemes throughout their lifecycle, with project values ranging from £20k to over £4m. Responsibilities include direct management of project teams and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners.
  • Ensuring compliance with the DBFO contract, managing risks, issues, and producing reports.
  • Identifying and addressing emerging risks and issues.
  • Overseeing projects from feasibility to handover, informing investment proposals.
  • Maintaining program and portfolio management, overseeing income and costs, and challenging project managers.
  • Client liaison and leading project reviews covering risk registers, project forecasts, change management, and priorities.
  • Managing project change control processes and allocating projects based on team capabilities.
  • Working with construction teams to ensure permits and site reporting are managed correctly.
  • Managing NEC contracts as Project Manager.

Working arrangements:

  • Willingness to travel to other offices and sites, including night shifts.

Full Driving License required.

Qualifications/Skills:
  • Experience in highways construction & maintenance or similar.
  • Project Management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, APMP).
  • Minimum HNC/HND in civil engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of design, environmental requirements, H&S legislation, and contract management.
  • Leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and commercial skills.
