The project:

Our client is looking to transform their campus and operations while maintaining a world-class science and research capability, retaining and developing specialist expertise, in a collaborative and health and safety conscious manner.

We are a delivery partner on their complex, 10 to 15-year, multi-billion-pound programme to redevelop their science campus near Weybridge in Surrey, working collaboratively with the client and other partners for technical, cost, and assurance responsibilities. Delivery responsibilities span the full lifecycle of projects within the overall programme, which includes sub-programmes for enabling, infrastructure (both temporary and permanent), and new science capabilities in a live environment on a site of national importance, maintaining logistics and operations at all times.

Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us:

Safety first - Going home safe and well:
  • Promote Mace's value of safety first, exhibiting visible safety behaviors, sharing lessons learned, and using safety moments and Mace's HSW framework to support safety and wellbeing.
  • Possess technical expertise in local health and safety rules and regulations relevant to the project portfolio.
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive working environment and understand the importance of team wellbeing.
  • Ensure robust quality systems are in place, and manage them in line with service excellence.
  • Manage delivery from project inception/brief through design, planning, procurement, and construction, in accordance with the overall delivery program and milestones.
  • Support the associate director and senior leaders in tasks and deliverables to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
Integrity - Always do the right thing:
  • Manage project budgets, highlight risks, challenges, and mitigations.
  • Support the long-term development of your function or business unit for a sustainable future.
  • Commit to making a positive impact for people, clients, and the planet, and hold others accountable to Mace values.
Create opportunity for our people to excel:
  • Manage design and consultant teams collaboratively to ensure responsibilities are effectively completed.
  • Lead and manage project teams and stakeholders to achieve KPIs.
  • Network actively, innovate, and seek best practices, utilizing Mace's resources and knowledge hubs.
Requirements:
  • Ability to gain at least CTC level clearance.
  • Experience with two-stage design and build contracts.
  • Experience in laboratory construction.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE, or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in project delivery within the consulting sector.
  • Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience leading large, diverse teams and stakeholder relationships.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and carbon considerations in projects.
