Senior Project Manager

Location: Chesterfield, United Kingdom

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000

Holidays: 25 days + 8 bank holidays

Remote working & half day on Fridays

The company : Our client is an EPC business specialising in the design and manufacturing of products used within the aluminium processing industry. They design a range of catalogue products and machines, as well as offering turnkey solutions for large factory installations. Their products are often used within recycling and manufacturing industries. They currently employ 90 staff in the UK, with a turnover exceeding £30 million last year, and have been established for over 40 years.

As the business grows, they are experiencing an increase in global projects across Europe, Canada, and the Middle East, with upcoming projects valued between £8-10 million. To support this growth, they seek to expand their design team to manage additional projects simultaneously and increase workload to push the business forward.

The Role : We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in heavy-duty engineering or machinery. You will join a team of 4 Project Managers, overseeing project delivery across Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls disciplines. Your responsibilities include managing the end-to-end delivery of up to 10 projects simultaneously, each valued between £300,000 and £600,000, with durations up to 9 months. Daily work involves collaboration with project teams using tools like Monday.com, MS Projects, and Sage 200.

Responsibilities :

1. Plan, execute, and oversee projects from inception to completion.
2. Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for project execution.
3. Develop detailed project plans and ensure proper resource allocation.
4. Track and monitor project progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
5. Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
6. Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
7. Establish and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
8. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
9. Ensure clear and transparent communication across departments.

Qualifications & Experience :

• Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Previous experience in project management, preferably in heavy machinery.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Monday.com).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in design, manufacturing, and assembly of machinery.
• Ability to travel internationally when required.
