Job Description

As a Senior Project Manager based from our Cambridge or Norfolk office, you will need to have proven experience within consultancy or client organizations, focusing on one or more of the following construction markets: Higher Education, Healthcare, or Data Centres.

You will have the ability to lead medium to large projects with minimal support and provide line management support as part of your duties.

The role involves working as part of an integrated team on significant components of large, complex projects led by a Director, covering the entire project lifecycle from inception to defects management.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Lead project management commissions to ensure their successful delivery.
  • Support, supervise, and motivate Project Managers, Assistant/Graduate, and Apprentice Project Managers.
  • Ensure all team members have relevant and current training.
  • Manage delivery of project management team outputs, adhering to timescales and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and lead internal project team meetings.
  • Review and sign off on all management information before issue.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Manage design, tender documents, appraisals, negotiations, and construction contracts.
  • Progress business development opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Support client acquisition through quality work, effective communication, and professional conduct.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship within the project management team.
  • Manage project finances, resourcing, audits, and reviews.
  • Formulate fee proposals and support project managers' professional development.
  • Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
  • Complete all relevant training.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

  • Professional qualification in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Chartered status with RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE, or equivalent.
  • Experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Understanding of construction project roles and their evolution over a project’s lifecycle.
  • Proven experience in Life Science, Tertiary Education, or Defence sectors preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and CDM regulations.
