TGS International Group in London is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead connectivity projects across hyperscale data centres. You will manage end-to-end delivery from mobilisation through installation, testing and handover, coordinating cabling, fibre and related infrastructure with clients and subcontractors.
Travel across Europe and the Middle East will be required to support project delivery. The role requires strong leadership, excellent stakeholder management and a solid track record
We are working on behalf of our client, a specialist technology infrastructure and connectivity organisation, to recruit an experienced Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of major data centre connectivity projects across the UK and internationally.
This is a key delivery role for an experienced project management professional with a strong background in structured cabling, fibre infrastructure and hyperscale data centre construction. The successful candidate will take ownership of connectivity projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, from mobilisation and pre-construction planning through installation, testing, completion and final handover.
Working closely with clients, Project Directors, Operations Managers, subcontractors and site delivery teams, the Senior Project Manager will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed programmes, technical specifications, quality standards and commercial requirements.
Proven experience delivering projects within hyperscale data centre construction environments is essential. Candidates with experience supporting AI infrastructure, high-density computing environments or next-generation data centre deployments will be particularly desirable.
The role is based in London and will involve significant international travel across Europe and the Middle East, depending on project requirements.
Take full responsibility for the delivery of connectivity projects from mobilisation and pre-construction through to installation, testing, completion and handover.
Manage structured cabling, fibre and wider connectivity installations within hyperscale data centre construction environments.
Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, delivery plans, installation schedules and key milestone trackers.
Coordinate multiple project workstreams to ensure delivery remains aligned with client requirements and agreed deadlines.
Monitor project progress, productivity, quality and resource utilisation, proactively identifying and resolving delivery issues.
Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, scopes of work and contractual obligations.
Manage project risks, dependencies, constraints and changes throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Ensure testing, commissioning, snagging, documentation and final handover activities are completed to the required standards.
Coordinate pre-construction activities to ensure projects are ready for efficient on-site execution.
Review project scopes, technical specifications, drawings and installation requirements, identifying discrepancies and outstanding technical queries.
Work with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams to resolve design issues and establish clear delivery requirements.
Plan labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor resources in line with project programmes.
Ensure method statements, risk assessments and relevant site documentation are prepared and approved before work commences.
Establish project reporting processes, installation trackers, testing schedules and document control procedures.
Support the transition from project award and mobilisation through to active site delivery.
Oversee the delivery of structured cabling, copper and fibre infrastructure across large-scale data centre projects.
Ensure installation teams work to the required technical specifications, installation methodologies and quality standards.
Coordinate fibre testing, copper certification, labelling, inspection, testing and completion activities.
Work with technical teams to resolve installation challenges, technical queries and issues affecting project progress.
Maintain oversight of connectivity infrastructure delivery within complex, construction-phase and mission-critical environments.
Ensure project deliverables meet client expectations and are appropriately documented for handover.
Identify opportunities to improve installation processes, delivery efficiency and quality assurance.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned connectivity projects.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with hyperscaler clients, principal contractors, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
Lead project progress meetings and provide clear, accurate updates on programme, risks, resources, quality and commercial performance.
Manage client expectations and ensure issues are communicated and escalated appropriately.
Coordinate with Project Directors, Operations Managers and commercial teams to maintain alignment across project delivery.
Represent the business professionally on client sites across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
Monitor project costs, budgets, resource utilisation and commercial performance.
Identify variations, additional works, scope changes and potential commercial risks.
Work with commercial and procurement teams to ensure changes are appropriately documented and managed.
Coordinate subcontractor performance, labour requirements, material availability and equipment planning.
Identify programme risks and implement mitigation plans to minimise delays and disruption.
Maintain accurate project records, progress reports, risk registers and supporting documentation.
Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across all project activities.
Ensure site teams and subcontractors comply with relevant construction and data centre site procedures.
Monitor installation quality and ensure defects, non-conformances and outstanding works are addressed promptly.
Ensure appropriate risk assessments, method statements and site documentation are in place.
Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure project teams understand their responsibilities.
Oversee quality assurance, testing records, snagging and project close-out documentation.
