Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Project Manager to lead major projects within PDP, delivering complex programmes across Defence, Nuclear, Water, Energy and Transport. You’ll manage scope, cost, schedule and risk while building high-performing teams and nurturing client relationships.

You’ll operate in a hybrid UK environment, with development, mentoring and clear career progression through structured leadership programmes and accreditation support.

Qualifications

• A degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or a related discipline.
• Working towards or holding a recognised professional qualification such as APM PMQ, ChPP or chartership related to engineering.
• Experience leading projects or major work packages through full lifecycle with accountability for scope, schedule, cost, risk and stakeholders.
• Experience in engineering, infrastructure, defence, nuclear, transportation, energy or other complex environments.
• Strong governance, risk management, change control, commercial management and project controls.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and building trusted client/supplier relationships.
• Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills; proactive mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of projects from initiation through to completion; manage scope, schedule, budget, risk and stakeholders.
• Build and lead high-performing project teams; foster an environment of motivation and excellence.
• Develop relationships with clients and key stakeholders to ensure value delivery.
• Apply governance and controls; ensure alignment with contractual obligations and best practice.
• Champion a positive safety culture and wellbeing across project delivery.
• Proactively manage risks, opportunities, dependencies and change.
• Oversee procurement activities and subcontractor performance when required.
• Monitor project performance against KPIs and financial measures; report clearly to clients and leadership.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to PDP’s career development pathways.
