Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to deliver complex engineering programmes within a highly regulated environment in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on programme coordination, planning integration, and resource management across multiple concurrent projects, including steel structures and V&V activities.

Work closely with Engineering Managers, Project Managers, Planners, and Technical Leads to ensure on-time delivery and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' project management experience in engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, defence, construction, rail, aerospace or similar sectors.
• Proven experience managing complex engineering programmes at programme level.
• Experience producing and managing detailed project schedules.
• Strong understanding of resource planning and load vs capacity management.
• Experience using Primavera P6.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams, dependencies and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate detailed programme plans across multiple engineering projects.
• Own resource planning and load versus capacity analysis for engineering teams.
• Create and maintain integrated Level 4 schedules with dependencies and critical paths.
• Coordinate with engineering and project teams to ensure realistic delivery plans.
• Support programme governance, reporting and risk management activities.
• Drive best practices in project controls, scheduling, and planning processes.
• Facilitate collaboration across disciplines to coordinate key deliverables.
• Monitor programme performance and recommend recovery actions where needed.
• Provide leadership on Primavera P6 planning methodologies.
